Cambridge, Mass.—Nov. 12, 2015—The Harvard Foundation Presents A conversation with baseball Hall of Famer Pedro Martinez and Harvard Professor Michael Sandel, Tues., Nov. 17, 5 pm, Sever Hall 113.
“The students and faculty of the Harvard Foundation are delighted to host baseball Hall of Famer Pedro Martinez and Professor Michael Sandel in a lively discussion about the career of one of baseball’s greatest pitchers and the lessons we can learn from it,” said Dr. S. Allen Counter, Director of the Harvard Foundation. “It is a rare opportunity for our students to share in an exchange between one of America’s greatest athletes and one of Harvard’s most distinguished professors - and baseball enthusiasts.”
“I’m thrilled that Pedro Martinez will visit Harvard and engage with Harvard students,” said Michael Sandel, the Anne T. and Robert M. Bass Professor of Government. “Not only is Pedro one of the greatest pitchers in baseball history. He is also a deeply thoughtful, reflective person with a remarkable life story. The chance to welcome him at Harvard is a rare and special treat.”
